Had a nice lunch and chat at Walkers today. Karrie got all of us interns in to the publishing house to talk to Lizzie Spratt, the head of their graphic novel department. They told us all about comics, publishing, nipple removing, stories and book illustration.

Yup, we did indeed visit Walkers Books publishing house today, and it was a fantastic day. Lizzie and David (iirc) gave us an exciting insight into the way Walkers commissions and creates their books, from childrens picture books to teen illustrated fiction and diverse graphic novels. We then spent the afternoon showing them our current projects, and they had great things to say with feedback for everyone’s work.
And and and they gave us Where’s Wally tote bags to take home with us :D Editors are such lovely people! Thanks Walker Books for having us.
